Effective date: November 7, 2026
These terms apply to the Funda app (iPhone and Android), to the Funda journey on WhatsApp and to Funda's web pages. By using Funda, you accept them.
1. Who publishes Funda
Funda is published by [À COMPLÉTER : raison sociale], [À COMPLÉTER : adresse], [À COMPLÉTER : RCCM / Id. nat.]. Contact: [À COMPLÉTER : e-mail de contact].
Funda is a private and independent service. It is not a government service.
2. What Funda does
Funda allows people living in the Democratic Republic of the Congo:
- to report a fact (incident, blocked road, outage, lost or found item, wanted vehicle, missing person, and so on);
- to confirm on site a fact reported by others;
- to receive alerts around them and in the areas they follow;
- to warn trusted contacts in case of danger (silent SOS, help request, "Watch over me");
- to submit and follow a missing person notice.
3. What Funda does not do
- Funda does not replace emergency services. In immediate danger, contact emergency services first. Funda informs people nearby, it does not intervene.
- Funda is not the police, a court or an emergency service.
- Funda does not guarantee that an alert will arrive in time, or that a contact or a service will respond. The mobile network, the battery, the phone's settings or WhatsApp may prevent an alert from being sent or received.
- The information published comes from residents. Funda does not guarantee that it is accurate or complete.
4. Your account
- The account is linked to your phone number, verified by a code.
- [À COMPLÉTER : âge minimum pour créer un compte].
- An account is personal. You are responsible for what is published from your account.
- Do not create several accounts to get around a sanction or to carry more weight in confirmations.
- You can delete your account at any time: see the "Delete my account" page.
5. Community rules
You agree to follow the community rules, starting with the first one: report a fact, not a person. They are set out on the "Community rules" page and in the app.
In particular, it is forbidden:
- to name, photograph or accuse a person who can be identified;
- to post addresses, numbers, license plates or personal data;
- to post images of victims, or violent or sensitive content;
- to post false reports, spam or advertising;
- to post anything that exploits or endangers a child (see the "Child protection" page).
6. What you post
- You remain the owner of what you post.
- You authorize Funda to host it, display it, blur it, resize it and share it with the people concerned, in the app, on WhatsApp and on the public map, in order to run the service.
- You guarantee that you have the right to post this content.
- You can withdraw a report you have posted.
7. Confirmations and area alerts
- Confirming a fact ("still there", "gone") or commenting on it with a photo is possible only on site, within about 500 meters at most.
- A fact confirmed by about three different people on site can automatically become an area alert.
- Missing persons, persons found and assaults never become automatic alerts: they are always reviewed by the Funda team.
8. Missing person notices
- The information in a missing person notice is reviewed by the Funda team before any sharing.
- Public sharing is decided after submission, with your agreement.
- Sightings ("I saw them") go to Funda. Only Funda passes information on to families, and decides what is passed on to them.
- Without an update, a notice is archived after 30 days.
9. Moderation and sanctions
Funda reviews content and may hide it, remove it or ask for a correction. Funda may warn, restrict, suspend or ban an account. The rules and how to appeal a decision are described on the "Moderation" page.
10. WhatsApp
- The WhatsApp journey is also subject to WhatsApp's terms.
- You receive WhatsApp alerts only if you have asked for them. Reply "STOP" to stop them, "START" to resume them.
- Form links sent on WhatsApp are personal and expire.
11. Your phone and your costs
Funda is free. [À COMPLÉTER : confirmer la gratuité et l'absence d'achats intégrés]. Internet connection, SMS or data plan charges remain your responsibility, depending on your operator.
12. Availability
We do our best to keep Funda running continuously, but we cannot guarantee it. The service may be interrupted for maintenance, outages or force majeure. We may change, suspend or discontinue a feature.
13. Liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- Funda is not responsible for content posted by users;
- Funda is not responsible for a decision taken solely on the basis of published information;
- Funda is not responsible for an alert that could not be sent or received for an external reason (network, phone, messaging provider).
Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under Congolese law.
14. Your data
The processing of your data is described in the Privacy Policy.
15. End of use
You can stop using Funda and delete your account at any time. Funda may suspend or close an account that does not comply with these terms, under the conditions described on the "Moderation" page.
16. Changes
We may change these terms. The effective date changes with each version. In the event of a significant change, we will let you know in the app.
17. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In the event of a dispute, contact us first: [À COMPLÉTER : e-mail de contact]. Failing agreement, the dispute will be brought before [À COMPLÉTER : juridiction compétente].
