Effective date: November 7, 2026
Funda allows its users to post reports, photos, voice notes and comments, and to submit missing person notices that may concern children. This page describes Funda's standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), and what we do to protect children.
1. Zero tolerance
On Funda, in the app, on WhatsApp and in web forms, it is strictly forbidden:
- to post, share, request or keep any child sexual abuse material (images, videos, audio, texts, drawings or generated content);
- to sexualize a child, in any way whatsoever;
- to seek contact with a child for sexual purposes (grooming);
- to use a missing person notice, a sighting or a help request to approach, locate or expose a child;
- to facilitate the trafficking or exploitation of children;
- to post the face, the name or any information that could identify a child victim.
These prohibitions come on top of the community rules: report a fact, not a person.
2. How to report
- In the app: on the fact concerned, use the flag button and choose the reason "Abuse of a minor". A single flag with this reason is enough: the content is hidden immediately, then reviewed as a priority by the team.
- By email: [À COMPLÉTER : adresse dédiée à la protection des enfants]. Describe the content and where you saw it, without attaching or forwarding the image.
- On WhatsApp: write to the Funda number to be put in touch with a team member.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact emergency services and the police first. Funda does not replace emergency services.
3. What we do on receipt
- Content flagged with the reason "Abuse of a minor" is hidden immediately, from the first flag, without waiting for other flags. It goes to the top of the human review queue, which handles it within the hour, and it is then removed.
- The author's account is banned. No prior warning applies.
- The material needed for the investigation is preserved securely, with restricted access, for as long as the authorities need it. [À COMPLÉTER : durée de préservation]
- We report the facts to the competent authorities. [À COMPLÉTER : autorités congolaises compétentes, et le cas échéant les organismes internationaux de signalement]
- We never pass this content on to anyone else, including the person who flagged it.
4. How Funda protects children day to day
- Blurring before sending. The app automatically detects and blurs faces and license plates on the device, before anything is sent, on iPhone and on Android alike. The person can blur a missed area themselves. The blur is written into the image.
- Automatic check when posting, then human review. Abuse flags for a serious reason can cause content to be hidden as a precaution.
- Missing person notice for a child:
- a child is always treated as a vulnerable person;
- their last name is never shared and their age is shared as a range;
- public sharing, and sharing of the photo, are decided after submission, on the case screen;
- each notice is reviewed by the Funda team before any sharing;
- sightings ("I saw them") are private and go to Funda. Only Funda passes information on to families, after review;
- the child's photo is deleted as soon as the case is closed;
- without an update, the notice is archived after 30 days.
- No private messaging between users in the app. [À COMPLÉTER : confirmer]
5. Cooperation with the authorities
Funda cooperates with the competent authorities in investigations into child sexual abuse and exploitation, in accordance with Congolese law. See the "Requests from authorities" page.
6. Team and training
[À COMPLÉTER : qui, dans l'équipe Funda, traite ces signalements, et comment cette équipe est formée et soutenue]
7. Point of contact
Designated point of contact for child protection and for Google Play questions about these standards:
- Name or position: [À COMPLÉTER : point de contact protection des enfants]
- Email: [À COMPLÉTER : adresse dédiée à la protection des enfants]
Publisher: [À COMPLÉTER : raison sociale], [À COMPLÉTER : adresse].
